Manufacturing and banking canine adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells for veterinary clinical application

Abstract Background Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have generated a great amount of interest in recent years as novel therapeutic application for improving the quality pet life and helping them free from painful conditions diseases. It has now become critical to address challenges related safety efficacy MSCs expanded vitro. In this study, we establish standardized process manufacture canine adipose-derived (AD-MSCs), including tissue sourcing, cell isolation culture, cryopreservation, thawing expansion, control testing, evaluate those clinical applications. Results After viability AD-MSCs manufactured under our was above 90 %. Expression surface markers differentiation potential consistent with ISCT standards. Sterility, mycoplasma, endotoxin tests were consistently negative. presented normal karyotype, did not form vivo tumors. No adverse events noted case treated intravenously AD-MSCs. Conclusions Herein demonstrated establishment feasible bioprocess manufacturing banking veterinary use.
